As part of the Chapter’s Social Justice activities, if you can knit or crochet, we can use your help in making newborn baby caps. The patterns and yarn are free – donated by Honor Health/Scottsdale Shea Medical Center – and we bring the completed caps to them. The caps are small and very easy to make.
If you are experienced or just a novice and want to participate in this effort, please contact: Ronee Siegel at firstname.lastname@example.org (917-273-0393) for more information.
Social Justice is one of the four pillars of Brandeis University and is an ethos that permeates a great deal of what happens on campus and in BNC Chapters across the country.
Help the Jewish Family and Children's Services stock the Just 3 Things food pantry by donating just 3 non-perishable food items each month and provide a needy youth with food as they transition from foster care to independence.
If you are interested in donating canned food items for the pantry or if you have questions, please contact Ellen Kirschenbaum Ellenk102@cox.net
If you are interested in donating gently used children's books, please contact
Dorry Sunenshine email@example.com
This social justice initiative was created more than four years ago by our BNC Phoenix Chapter to help improve literacy in our community. It was later renamed Carol B.'s Books in loving memory of Carol Baine following her death. The Chapter collects books for elementary schools and donates these gently used books to Phoenix schools in less privileged districts. The books are used at the school's discretion in the classroom, to add to the school's library and to use as incentives for individual students.
